On the nose
On the nose is the second album release from The Gliding Faces. It is an album entirely of cover songs.
Concept
Max would, every weekend, from Friday to Sunday, stay at Dan and Peter's house in Coventry for work as a drag queen at the local LGBTQIA+ venue. One Sunday, however, disaster struck. Dan tested positive for COVID-19 and the rules at the time were that everyone in the abode had to stay and isolate for ten days. Dan decided that during this time, with Max living with them for a week and a half, that The Gliding Faces would make the most of the situation and record a new album. And so, work began on On the nose and, working intensively for ten days, they put together the album.
The design of the album was to be fleshy. Unnerving and, of course, slightly silly. "On the nose" was the title all along, since Max suggested it because of the Faces in the duo's name. Using close-up photography and Photoshop to bring out the blotches and imperfections, an album cover was born.
