What we had

"What we had" is a song by The Gliding Faces from the album, Veritas. Dan says, of the song: "The ending of this song still gets me. Very emotional, I love it! Max had an idea about doing a song where the verses sound like choruses and the choruses are stripped back like verses. The edit for the single is pretty brutal as well." Max has this take on the song: "'What we had' talks about a new breakup and looks at reflecting on that relationship and what it meant for the protagonist. It's also about losing any relationship to any circumstance in some ways, whether that be death, someone moving away or someone moving on, for example."
Lyrics
Kissing and holding Smiling and laughing Looking at you And always knowing Feeling and floating Content and unknowing Unprepared For what is coming When I think about What we had I can't feel anything But sad When I think about What you said Everything gets blurry My heart hurts my head Hoping and crying Drowning and dreaming Thinking of you And regretting Shouting and fighting Hurting and panicking Torturous Losing the meaning When I think about What we had I can't feel anything But sad When I think about What you said Everything gets blurry My heart hurts my head It's torture to imagine My life without you I can't describe the feeling I can't tell you what I mean But you're my perfection You bring me joy Thats why it hurts When you toss me like a toy When I think about What we had I can't feel anything But sad When I think about What you said Everything gets blurry My heart hurts my head Everything gets blurry When I think about what we had
