"Wake me up tonight" is a song by The Gliding Faces from their second original studio album, Veritas. The song is about freeing yourself from work and letting go on the dance floor. "Wake me up tonight is about getting ready to party. It's the pre-drink party, the excitement the joy of meeting your friends. It has lots of vocoder in it as well which almost makes the song sound a bit Daft Punk-esque."
Lyrics
Wake me up Tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Though my head Is filled with spreadsheets Synchronise my feet To the heartbeat Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Counting the hours Second to second Taking a shot As the party beckons Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Time slows And the vodka stops Giving way To intrusive thoughts Lights glow And the beat drops Maybe I'll stay Till life distorts Till life distorts Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight Wake me up Tonight Wake me up tonight
