Diffractions is the remixes sister album to The Gliding Faces' fourth major release, Spectral.

Concept

Dan says, "I had the idea of doing another album of the same songs, alongside Spectral just as a bit of fun, really. We'd spent so long working on the album that we were so used to the songs and because we had created just the album tracks and B-sides, we hadn't actually created a pool of 25-odd songs to work from. So the extra effort we saved there went into making a remixes album, where we took turns in remixing the songs. Six of mine, six of Max's. It was a fun exercise in learning nothing!"
