Orchid

"Orchid" is a song by The Gliding Faces from the album Spectral. The song is about not needing to be handled so carefully as to be feeling as though you're a delicate plant.

Lyrics

No lies, no other loves
Take of those kid gloves
Release the flock of doves
Into the skies above
Oh-oh

We thought we had it made
We had the plans laid
Checks checked and bills paid
But then the feelings fade
Oh-oh

Relationships can be
Unmanageable
And love can be
Intangible

I'm not an orchid
I'm not a feckless child
Blundering through life's maze
Don't protect me
Just let me be wild
Like and orchid needs space

You thought you had it rough
I thought I'd had enough
It's time to act out tough
I'd better pack my stuff
Oh-oh

It's not as easy as
Going with the flow
If you love someone
Let them go

I'm not an orchid
I'm not a feckless child
Blundering through life's maze
Don't protect me
Just let me be wild
Like and orchid needs space

I'm not an orchid
I'm not a feckless child
Blundering through life's maze
Don't protect me
Just let me be wild
Like and orchid needs space
