"Waste of time" is a song by The Gliding Faces from the album Veritas. "A late entry into the project, this. We'd been working remotely on Max's side for ages and I decided to come up with something a bit funky with a call-and-response line in it," says Dan. Max says, "This one explores how anxiety can literally take away our lives and our time. We overthink and get stuck in a circle and lose hours worrying about things that don't really matter."
Lyrics
I should have said this then The moment's gone So I'll move on I said I'd let it go That was a lie I'll think about this Till I die It's going round in my head In my head In my head in my head I'll worry about something else instead Else instead Else instead Else instead It's a waste of time Waste of time Waste of time Waste of time I'm a slave to my mind To my mind To my mind To my mind Preoccupied Antagonised Obsessively Agonised Overthinking Second-guessed Give it a rest Give it a rest It's going round in my head In my head In my head in my head I'll worry about something else instead Else instead Else instead Else instead It's a waste of time Waste of time Waste of time Waste of time I'm a slave to my mind To my mind To my mind To my mind Chasing solutions Chasing solutions Chasing solutions I'll never find Never find Never find Never find It's going round in my head In my head In my head in my head I'll worry about something else instead Else instead Else instead Else instead It's a waste of time Waste of time Waste of time Waste of time I'm a slave to my mind To my mind To my mind To my mind Chasing solutions Chasing solutions Chasing solutions I'll never find Never find Never find Never find
