Tangerine

"Tangerine" is a song by The Gliding Faces from the album Spectral. The song recounts a solo holiday and the pleasures of being on a far-away shore in quiet contemplation.

Lyrics

Dipping my feet in rock pool
Staring past the only cloud
I think that I'm a fool
As I diverge from the crowd

My fingers through the olive leaves
My face reflects the sun
My life is but a tapestry
My threads are finely spun

This tangerine scene
Beings in Riomaggiore
This tangerine dream
The best chapter of my story

Tangerine scene
Tangerine dream

With Limoncello in one hand
The stars broken in the sea
I finally understand
Focusing on me

My body immersed in waves
My face reflects the moon
My life is but a tapestry
This chapter's ending soon

This tangerine scene
Beings in Riomaggiore
This tangerine dream
The best chapter of my story

Tangerine dream

This part, I could never stand
As tarmac replaces sand
It's stuffy in this taxi
Thinking of home will relax me

This tangerine scene
Beings in Riomaggiore
This tangerine dream
The best chapter of my story

This tangerine scene
Beings in Riomaggiore
This tangerine dream
The best chapter of my story
